Searching for values in grids

Our system allows for spreadsheet style searching and filtering in grids for values by clicking on the funnel image  on the grid column you wish to search.

Clicking on the funnel image   brings up the dialog shown below, that allows the user to specify up to two search criteria for that column.  The diaplog also displays options to use for the search filter, such as "Is Equal to", "Starts with", and "Contains".  The options displayed in this dropdown may change based on the type of data displayed in the column.

While a filter is active, the funnel image will be highlighted in a lighter color.

Advanced Usage

• You may also place searches across multiple columns in grids.  When using the multi-column search feature, the individual column filters are combined with "AND" accross the affected columns.

Example:

("Product" => "Starts With" => "B" OR "Product" => "Contains" => "Sample")
AND 
("Category" => "Is equal to" => "Drug")
